How to play Tetra Blocks

Tetra Blocks is a classic falling-blocks puzzle. Tetrominoes drop into the well; slot them into complete horizontal lines to clear them and score. Stack to the top and it's game over, and the speed rises level by level.

Controls

Arrow keys move and soft-drop, Up / X / Z rotate, and Space hard-drops the piece instantly. On a phone, use the on-screen buttons. Learn the hard drop — at higher speeds the time it saves is the difference between placing pieces and surviving them.

Scoring

Clearing multiple lines at once pays far more than clearing them one at a time, and the four-line Tetra is the jackpot. The classic technique: build a flat stack nine columns wide, leave one column empty, and save your I-pieces to drop down the shaft.

Tips

Keep your stack flat and low — towers and deep pits are what kill runs. Don't hold out for the perfect piece forever: if the well is climbing, cash out with a cheap line clear and rebuild. Play a level or two below your panic threshold and the speed increases will sneak up on you much more slowly.
