About this game

Play Hamlet to Empire free online — an idle island builder like Forager and Travian, no download and no signup. Start alone by a campfire: chop trees, pick berries and build a shelter. Villagers arrive and take over the work, you sell goods for gold, buy new islands and watch a hamlet grow into a town, a city and finally an empire with its own Great Tower. Your villagers keep working while you are away. No PvP — just your islands, skeleton raids and expeditions for relics.

How to play Hamlet to Empire

Hamlet to Empire is an idle island builder. You begin with one small island, a campfire and your own two hands, and your settlement keeps working while the game is closed (up to 24 hours, as long as your storehouses have room).

Controls

Click or tap a tree, bush or rock to walk over and gather it; your character keeps working on nearby ones. On a keyboard you can also walk with WASD or the arrow keys. Drag to look around and scroll or pinch to zoom. Tap a dashed plot to build there, and tap an island across the water to buy it.

From campfire to empire

Follow the quest bar at the top: it always points at a sensible next step and pays out resources. Build a Shelter so villagers can join you, then put them to work in the Lumber Camp, Quarry, Mine and Farmstead. Build the Trading Post to sell goods for gold, and use gold to buy neighbouring islands and better tools. Each island holds new resources and the plots for new buildings.

Raids, expeditions and eras

From Town Hall 3 skeleton raids arrive every few hours: train troops and build a Hidden Cellar so a lost raid only stings. The Harbor sends ships on expeditions for loot and relics. From Town Hall 10 you can found a New Era for Crowns and permanent upgrades, but finishing the Great Tower on Skyreach pays the most.

Tips

Queue several upgrades before you leave, keep the Warehouse ahead of your production, and sell the surplus instead of letting a full storehouse waste it.
