How to play Tile Merge

A 2048-style sliding merge puzzle. Every swipe slides all tiles in that direction; when two matching numbers collide they merge into their double. Each move spawns a new tile, and the game ends when the board is full with no merges left.

Controls

Arrow keys or WASD on desktop, swipe in any direction on a phone, or use the on-screen pad. Every move counts — there is no undo.

Strategy

The single most important habit: pick a corner and keep your biggest tile there, building a descending staircase of values next to it. Commit to using mostly two or three directions; the moment you swipe your anchor tile out of its corner, the board tends to unravel. Never make a move just because you can — every swipe spawns a new tile that eats space.

Tips

Think two merges ahead: a good move sets up a chain where merging two 64s lets the new 128 immediately merge again. Keep your bottom row (or whichever row holds your anchor) full at all times, so a vertical swipe can't dislodge it. The wall is your friend — merges are easiest to force when tiles have nowhere else to slide.
