How to play Motherlode

Motherlode is an endless mining descent: pilot your digging pod underground, carve through the dirt for copper, gold, rubies and diamonds, then haul your cargo back to the surface to sell — and pour the profit into a deeper-diving machine.

Controls

Arrow keys / WASD, or the on-screen pad on phones: thrust up to fly, steer sideways, and dig by pushing into the ground below or beside you. Fly back up to the surface buildings to sell ore and refuel.

The core loop

Fuel is your real health bar — everything you do burns it, and running dry deep underground ends the run. The rhythm is dig, fill your cargo, sell, refuel, upgrade, repeat. Upgrade the drill for speed, the tank for range, the cargo bay for bigger hauls, and the hull to survive hazards like lava pockets.

Tips

The rich ore is deeper; early runs should be short and safe while you build fuel and cargo capacity. Always turn back with more fuel than the trip down cost you — flying up is expensive. Dig staircase patterns rather than sheer vertical shafts so you can always fly back out of your own hole.
